N12971 is owned and operated by Neo-Flites Flying Club and is based out of DuPage Airport (KDPA) in West Chicago, Illinois, about 35 miles from downtown Chicago. DPA is the second largest airport in Illinois in terms of acreage and has 24 hour control tower facilities.
The plane is parked on the General Aviation ramp located on the north side of the field off of North Avenue. There is ample parking and a building close by with a pilots’ lounge and restroom facilities. If you’re more rustic there is usually a porta-potty available when the building is closed.
